Clamp Meters (Tong Tester)
We, at Sri Meenakshi Enterprises deal and supply Clamp Meters (Tong Testers), which are very convenient testing instruments. It permits current measurements on a live conductor without circuit interruption. Using the Clamp Meter, we measure current by simply clamping on a live conductor. One of the benefits of this method is that we even measure a large current without disturbing the load. While making current measurement with an ordinary Multi Meter, we need to cut wiring and connect the instruments to the circuit under test.
In general, AC Clamp Meters operate on the principle of current transformer used to pickup magnetic flux generated as a result of current flowing through a conductor. Assuming a current flowing through a conductor to be the primary current, one can obtain a current proportional to the primary current by electro magnetic induction from the secondary side of a transformer, which is connected to a measuring circuit of the instrument. It permits you to take an AC current reading on the digital display.
Tong Tester are available for leakage current measurement (it can measure current as low as 10 micro amps).
Hall Effect sensors are used to detect DC current in case of AC/DC Tong Testers.
KYORITSU DC Tong Tester are available for low current measurement also (it can measure current as low as 1 milli amps)
MECO & YOKOGAWA Tong Testers are available for power measurements, earth resistance measurement also
KYORITSU Tong testers with TRMS measurement, peak hold functions, high frequency response (1 KHz)
MECO Clamp on adaptors available for converting the high current to low current or low voltage are employed for monitoring current & power
